Where we compete
EVAC competes in both the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA) at the Arizona state level and the National Christian Homeschool Championships (NCHC) nationally. Our homeschool teams excel in high-level competition against other schools and homeschool programs, balancing sports with family and church activities. Despite our flexible schedule we win state championships and have athletes move on to play in college. At EVAC, sports enrich rather than overwhelm students' lives.
our community
cost
EVAC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization run by parent volunteers. Our fees are based on the estimated costs to run the team, without built-in profit, and are evenly spread among all rostered players. Fees are due upon rostering and must be paid before participation. Homeschooled students under ESA contracts can join EVAC, but we are not an approved ESA vendor and do not assist in ESA reimbursement processes.
There are typically three fees for each season: team fees, uniform fees, and tournament fees. Team fees include CAA league fee, estimated costs for facilities and referees, and insurance and other administrative costs. Uniforms are player-owned, meaning that at the start of each season, players that are rostered are required to purchase a uniform to be a part of the team, but the uniform is then owned by the player and is the player's responsibility. If the player is a returning player for that team and the uniforms have not changed, the player can use the same uniform from the previous season. Tournaments are a separate cost and only applicable to teams that engage in tournaments. Most high school teams find at least one tournament to play in each year, but elementary and junior high teams do not always play in tournaments.
Fees vary widely per sport and grade level. Below is a rough estimate of what costs could look like.
Elementary and Junior High Teams
$300 for field sports or $550 for court sports, $50 uniform, $50 tournaments
High School Teams
$400 for field sports or $750 for court sports, $100 uniforms, $100 tournaments

run by volunteers
At EVAC, homeschool parents and alumni drive everything, from coaching to administrative tasks, with some also serving on the board. Volunteers are crucial, fostering a culture where serving is both joyful and privileged.
To hold a leadership role at EVAC, you must agree to the Statement of Faith and complete an application and interview process. This is essential for advancing our mission to "encourage the hearts and minds of the participating youth in the love and likeness of Christ."
ALL EVAC COACHES ARE VOLUNTEERS, MEET CAA CRITERIA, & ARE EITHER NFHS OR PCA CERTIFIED.
EVAC EVENTS THIS MONTH
for his glory
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31
At EVAC, we live by the phrase "For His Glory" in everything we do, from the cheers in our huddles to the words on our merchandise. It's not just a slogan, but how we strive to conduct ourselves. As our mission statement reads "East Valley Athletes for Christ (EVAC) is an association of homeschool families dedicated to exemplifying Christ while participating in athletic competition. It is the goal of EVAC to encourage the hearts and minds of the participating homeschool youth in the love and likeness of Christ."
