Season dates

In most seasons the clinics will start in the middle of July with a one-day tryout typically happening at the middle or end of July. Typically practices will begin at the end of July or the beginning of August with regular-season games starting the middle of August and ending in September. Playoffs are typically the first week of October.

practices And Time Commitement

Practice locations will vary depending on field availability.  Past practice locations have been in South Chandler, Gilbert, and east Mesa.  Practice duration is typically 2 hours. No practice on Wednesdays or Sundays. Once the season starts, JH teams will have no more than three to four combined games or practices per week.

Costs

EVAC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization run by parent volunteers. Our fees are based on the estimated costs to run the team, without built-in profit, and are evenly spread among all rostered players. Fees are due upon rostering and must be paid before participation. Homeschooled students under ESA contracts can join EVAC, but we are not an approved ESA vendor and do not assist in ESA reimbursement processes.

There are typically three fees for each season: team fees, uniform fees, and tournament fees. Team fees include CAA league fee, estimated costs for facilities and referees, and insurance and other administrative costs. Uniforms are player-owned, meaning that at the start of each season, players that are rostered are required to purchase a uniform to be a part of the team, but the uniform is then owned by the player and is the player's responsibility. If the player is a returning player for that team and the uniforms have not changed, the player can use the same uniform from the previous season. Tournaments are a separate cost and only applicable to teams that engage in tournaments. Most high school teams find at least one tournament to play in each year, but elementary and junior high teams do not always play in tournaments.

Fees vary widely per sport and grade level. Below is a rough estimate of what costs could look like.
$300 for team fee, $50 uniform, $50 tournaments = $400 estimate for the season

All baseball bats must follow NFHC bat requirements. Generally speaking bats must be between -3 and -5. Most bats will have their "drop" or - number listed on the bat barrel. Look for the -3 or -5 on the barrel or bat specifications before purchase. The Rawlings premium outlet us typically a good place to get help with purchasing the right bat at a good price.
