JUNIOR HIGH BOYS

TEAMS OFFERED:

General Information:

General Team Info:  EVAC usually fields two junior high level teams if enough athletes tryout. The Blue team is the top level team with older and more experienced players (primarily 7th/8th grade).  The Silver team is meant for boys new to the game or who are a younger age (5th-8th grade).

 

Season: Practices begin the week of Feb. 28 with regular season games beginning the week of March 13.  The season runs through the the beginning of May. Post season tournament play runs through the first week or so of May.

 

Ages: Teams are targeted for students in grades 7-8. Team size and players on the roster will be determined by the coaches.  Students cannot be 15 years old before Sept. 1. 

 

Tryouts: All athletes MUST complete EVAC 2023-2024 Registration prior to tryouts.

 

Dates will be announced in early 2024.

 

Clinics:

WHAT:  JH Boys Basketball Clinic - this is an opportunity for boys interested in playing EVAC JH basketball to meet the coaches and work on skills.
WHO: JH 7th & 8th grade Boys
WHEN:  11/28/23 from 7-9 PM
WHERE:  Legacy Sports Complex - Court 11 - 6321 S Ellsworth Rd., Mesa, AZ  85212

There will be a $5 charge to cover the cost of the courts.

Practices:  Some practices may take place at Legacy Sports with other indoor or outdoor locations utilized if necessary.  Practice will be approximately 1-2 hours, three times per week after school hours. No practice on Wednesdays or Sundays. Once the season starts, teams will have no more than 3-4 combined games or practices per week.

 

Cost: $425or more per season (estimated)

 

Coaches: All coaches are volunteers, certified, and meet CAA coaching standards. If you are interested in coaching please contact the Athletic Director.

Tournaments:  Elementary and JH teams may participate in local tournaments and most likely in the March Gladness tournament in California.
