EVAC JH Flag Football
It is football time! After a return trip to the CAA state championship game last year and repeating as conference champions for the fourth time, the EVAC Junior High Flag Football players look to keep the momentum.
The first tryout/clinic will occur on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 9-11am. This tryout/clinic is primarily intended for those who have not played EVAC flag football before and are interested in learning more about the team, but returning players are encouraged to attend. A signed medical release form, available on this website and at the tryout, must be signed by a parent and provided to the coach before a player can take the field.
The final tryout will be on Monday, August 3 at 5-7pm. Practices will continue throughout August on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-7pm. Games start the first week of September. The season ends in time for basketball. Tryouts and practices are at Coach Malm’s house: 108 S. 163rd Street in Gilbert. The nearest cross-streets are Elliot and Greenfield. Mouth guards are required and plastic cleats are encouraged.
The age limit is that players cannot be 15 years old before September 1, 2015. So any players whose 15th birthday is on or after September 1, 2015 may play.
Games are generally in the late afternoons (after 4pm) on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays, typically with no more than two games per week. We do not have practices during the season if players can stay about 20 minutes after each game for additional conditioning and coaching.
We hope to again have two teams: one competitive in the highest CAA division and one developmental team competing in a secondary CAA division.
Please call Coach Malm at 602-502-3346 or email at email@example.com if you want more information.
